As you browse through our website, you will find that Canada plays an important role in the global Taro organization.

After establishing strong roots in Israel more than fifty years ago, Taro chose Canada as the base from which to expand both its geographic reach and product line.

From our start in Canada in 1984 we have grown rapidly:

• Job Creation: added more than 250 new jobs
• Global Manufacturing: now producing 2/3rds of Taro’s global volume
• Specialized R&D: the largest topical product R&D team in Canada

2001 was an exciting year for Taro Canada. Key highlights include:

• New Division: we introduced a branded dermatology divison (see www.taropharma.ca).
• Product Acquisition: we acquired Dermovate^® from GlaxoSmithKline, completing TaroPharma’s line of topical corticosteroids.
• Generic Coumadin^® : Taro-Warfarin, the first-to-market equivalent to Coumadin^® was successfully launched and listed on major provincial formularies.
